Winemaker’s Notes: Using ‘old-world’ methods of hand pruning, hand harvesting, and minimal processing, the Bernat 2003 Syrah is well-structured with an excellent acid balance and firm tannins. The owl on the label’s logo honors the owls that protect and watch over Bernat Vineyards & Winery - named after winemaker Sam Marmorstein’s father.
Winemaker’s Tasting Notes: Aromatics of black pepper, and earth and flavors of blackberry jam, casis and dark bing cherry. Mouth feel of syrup and velvet. This is a slow sipping wine - wine that makes a lasting impression. Even better the second day. Location: Produced in Los Olivos, CA, in Ynez Valley, Santa Barbara County, Central Coast, CA, California, USA. Groups: Red wine, Syrah, All Wines
